Senior Developer, PHP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and sustain robust, scalable applications using PHP and Laravel.

• Create and integrate APIs, background jobs, and data models for both internal tools and customer-facing products.

• Produce clean, maintainable code in line with company standards.

• Participate in architectural decisions and uphold secure, scalable codebases.

• Engage in code reviews.

• Advocate for engineering standards related to testing, version control, and documentation.

• Enhance technical standards and development processes.

• Tackle complex challenges and engage in design discussions with fellow developers.

• Take part in sprint planning, estimation, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Work collaboratively with stakeholders on feature development, maintenance, and bug resolution.

• Collaborate with QA teams on test coverage and acceptance criteria.

• Achieve sprint objectives and manage project delivery risks.

• Develop automated unit and integration tests.

• Utilize CI/CD pipelines and Git workflows.

• Enhance development processes, tooling, and methodologies.

• Maintain documentation for designs, features, systems, databases, and processes.

• Report directly to the Development Team Leader within a scrum-based environment.

• Proficient in English, both written and verbal.

• Willingness to work during Melbourne, Australia hours.

• Flexibility to work beyond standard hours for scheduled deployments.

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in a comparable DevOps or Systems Engineering position.

• Experience working with remote teams.

• Extensive background in designing and implementing automated CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong knowledge of Docker, Linux environments, and cloud infrastructure scaling.

• Quick learner of new technologies.

• Proficient in PHP 8.

• Experience with the Laravel Framework.

• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular.

• Experience with local development and virtualization tools like Vagrant, Docker, XAMPP, or MAMP.

• Proficient in Linux server environments.

• Experience with database architecture and query/table optimization using MySQL, MariaDB, or Redis.

• Proficient in Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.

• Experience with REST or GraphQL API design and integration.

• Familiarity with AI tooling and automation.

• Knowledge of DevOps and the Laravel Framework is a plus.
