Senior Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Create comprehensive user experiences for responsive web products and workflows.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and fellow designers throughout the product development process.

• Design and test prototypes to validate concepts and collect customer feedback.

• Engage in user research activities, including interviews, usability testing, and concept validation.

• Convert customer needs, business objectives, and research findings into compelling product experiences.

• Contribute to and enhance the team's design system and design methodologies.

• Utilize contemporary design and prototyping tools, including AI-assisted workflows when applicable.

• Present design solutions and their rationale to cross-functional stakeholders.

• Continuously enhance experiences through experimentation, iteration, and insights gained from the product.

• Assist H&R Block in crafting intuitive digital experiences for clients managing taxes and finances.

• Play a role in product strategy and influence design methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in designing end-to-end digital product experiences for responsive web applications.

• A robust portfolio showcasing user-centered design, interaction design, visual design, and product thinking.

• Proven experience collaborating closely with Product Managers and Engineers to deliver customer-focused solutions from concept to launch.

• Experience in creating, testing, and refining prototypes based on customer feedback, experimentation, and product results.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Ability to work independently in ambiguous settings.

• Strong commitment to accessibility and usability best practices.

• Experience in planning and conducting user research, including interviews, usability testing, and other discovery methods.

• Capability to integrate quantitative and qualitative insights to identify opportunities and enhance customer experiences.

• Experience in developing high-fidelity prototypes and closely collaborating with engineers during implementation.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted design tools, emerging design technologies, and designing AI-powered or automated experiences.

• Experience contributing to or operating within an enterprise design system, including components, patterns, and documentation.

• Strong visual design capabilities.

• Experience designing products in financial services, fintech, tax, or other regulated sectors.

• Ability to translate complex requirements into user-friendly customer experiences.
