Senior Design Manager, Data Centers – Federal and Special Projects

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +8 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as a client-facing design expert responsible for the conceptual design, project scope formulation, and detailed design execution for specialized projects in data centers and critical facilities.

• Oversee the comprehensive design delivery strategy for significant facility expansions, campus phases, or intricate regional programs from initial site preparation to commissioning and handover.

• Manage multidisciplinary consultants.

• Ensure alignment of civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, controls, security, and operational systems across building and infrastructure interfaces.

• Lead the resolution of technical, commercial, and programmatic risks.

• Provide design reporting and assurance regarding budgets, schedules, value engineering, and change controls.

• Serve as the principal design partner across the Construction, Operations, Security, and Sustainability divisions.

• Mentor Design Managers and enhance regional design practices.

• Propel execution through influence, technical guidance, and cross-functional leadership as an individual contributor.

⛳️ Requirements

• Typically possess 10+ years of experience with significant accountability for complex data center or mission-critical capital projects.

• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

• Must have the capability to obtain DoD Security Clearance.

• Experience in applying ICD 705 requirements to facilities is preferred.

• Have a profound multidisciplinary understanding of critical facility systems.

• Familiarity with consultant governance, codes/standards, permitting, and global versus local compliance.

• Hold a University degree in Architecture, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
