Senior Denodo Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain virtual data views, logical data models, and governed data services utilizing Denodo.

• Create reusable semantic and logical data layers to ensure consistent, self-service access to reliable enterprise data.

• Develop and enhance data-integration and data-virtualization solutions tailored for analytics, reporting, operational needs, and AI applications.

• Integrate Denodo with enterprise applications, databases, APIs, cloud services, files, and contemporary data platforms.

• Connect and model data from SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, SQL Server, and various structured and semi-structured sources.

• Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, virtual views, transformations, and data services.

• Assist with query optimization, caching strategies, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.

• Collaborate with data architects, data engineers, analysts, and business teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions.

• Implement data governance, security, privacy, access control, and data quality practices.

• Document technical designs, logical and physical data models, source-to-target mappings, implementation details, and operational runbooks.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in data engineering.

• Hands-on experience with Denodo, including the development and support of virtual data views, data services, logical data models, and integrations.

• Proficiency in data virtualization, federated queries, logical data layers, semantic modeling, or data service development.

• Familiarity with comparable technologies such as Collibra, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, and Snowflake.

• Strong understanding of data integration, ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, data warehousing, lakehouse, and analytics concepts.

• Experience with relational, structured, and semi-structured data formats, including SQL, JSON, XML, CSV, Parquet, and API-based data.

• Knowledge of cloud data ecosystems, preferably within Microsoft Azure.

• Experience with source control and CI/CD tools like Git and Azure DevOps.

• Experience with data sources such as SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, SQL Server, and other structured and semi-structured data.
