This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, implement, and enhance database technologies in multi-cloud and on-premises setups.
• Write and refine intricate SQL queries, stored procedures, and views.
• Create, adjust, and eliminate indices to boost query performance and reduce unnecessary overhead.
• Develop and uphold backup, recovery, and disaster recovery protocols.
• Conduct and document disaster recovery exercises and failover testing to ensure recovery processes, RTO/RPO compliance, and team preparedness.
• Monitor database performance, evaluate metrics, and apply tuning strategies.
• Work collaboratively with developers and architects to craft effective data models and schemas.
• Implement security best practices, access controls, and encryption standards.
• Oversee database migrations, upgrades, and version control.
• Diagnose and resolve replication, clustering, and connectivity challenges.
• Over 6 years of professional experience in database engineering.
• Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or later.
• Extensive knowledge in T-SQL development, including complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Expertise in index strategies and execution plan optimization.
• Experience in configuring, managing, and executing failover procedures for MSSQL Always-On Availability Groups.
• Familiarity with MSSQL mirroring and log shipping for disaster recovery.
• Understanding of backup and restore techniques, recovery models, and point-in-time recovery.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL.
• Practical experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
• Significant experience managing databases on AWS RDS and Aurora.
• Proficient in disaster recovery planning.
• Knowledge of database security, encryption, authentication, and compliance standards.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
