This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, validate, and implement predictive models and analytical reports that align with business and programmatic goals.
• Ensure that models and reports are comprehensible, well-documented, and clearly outline assumptions, opportunities, and limitations.
• Monitor the performance of deployed models for data drift, degradation, and quality concerns; lead efforts for remediation.
• Convert complex analytical insights into accessible information for program staff, leadership, and external partners.
• Advocate for data literacy throughout the organization.
• Collaborate with business users to enhance understanding of how models and reports impact Vibrant’s initiatives.
• Create and deliver training materials and workshops focused on data literacy, analytical thinking, and model interpretation.
• Work alongside data engineers and analytics teams to develop data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Utilize statistical and machine learning techniques, validate assumptions, and evaluate uncertainty.
• Contribute to the data science infrastructure, including model registries, version control, and AWS deployment pipelines.
• Address ad hoc analytical requests from program and operational teams.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (statistics, computer science, epidemiology, public health, applied mathematics, or a related discipline), or equivalent practical experience.
• Over 4 years of hands-on data science experience, including AI/ML model development and coding-based analysis and reporting.
• Strong expertise in Python and/or R for data analysis, modeling, and reporting activities.
• Familiarity with libraries such as scikit-learn, pandas, tidyverse, or similar.
• Proven experience in model development, validation, deployment, and ongoing quality management in a production setting.
• Practical experience with AWS data science services, including SageMaker for model training and deployment.
• Advanced knowledge of statistics, including regression, classification, clustering, causal inference, and experimental design.
• Experience handling large, complex datasets in cloud-based data warehouse environments like Redshift, Snowflake, or similar.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong analytical curiosity, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work independently on ambiguous challenges.
• High level of influencing capability.
• Experience in public health, behavioral health, social services, or a mission-driven organization is a significant advantage.
• Previous experience as a team lead or in a similar capacity is beneficial.
• Knowledge of equity-centered data practices and algorithmic fairness is a plus.
• Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time.
• Must frequently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
• Must regularly communicate via video calls with internal and external stakeholders.
