Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Formulate and implement strategies to identify and prototype innovative digital tools for upstream (cell culture) bioprocess operations that align with Product & Technology Roadmaps.

• Convert scientific advancements into development initiatives.

• Direct technical workstreams and design models and simulations to create validated prototypes for digital solutions.

• Assess technologies, trends, and customer use cases through structured engagements with commercial or application teams to pinpoint high-value innovation opportunities.

• Develop and validate prototype applications and tools, such as digital twins and machine-learning-based solutions.

• Facilitate the integration of validated concepts into scalable product or platform capabilities.

• Transform process and production data into actionable insights to aid in technical validation and feasibility assessments.

• Represent scientific expertise in selected external engagements and industry forums.

• Foster internal recognition as a subject matter expert without ownership of solution positioning or commercial activities.

• Enhance technical credibility and identify emerging trends.

⛳️ Requirements

• PhD with over 5 years of experience, or a Master's degree with more than 7 years of experience.

• Demonstrated success (publications or patents) in automation, cell culture process modeling, or data analytics within bioprocessing or a related field.

• Proficiency in modeling, optimization, and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, Pyomo).

• Experience with optimization frameworks (e.g., IPOPT, BARON) and version control systems (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capability to convert data into informed decisions.

• Effective communication skills across technical and cross-functional teams.

• Excellent customer focus, dedicated to understanding scientific challenges and translating them into prototype concepts that yield measurable improvements in solution performance and industrialization speed.
