Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and implement sophisticated analytical models that provide insights and improve SecurityScorecard’s cybersecurity ratings platform.

• Create, assess, and deploy machine learning models for risk evaluation, threat intelligence, and vendor risk assessment.

• Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover patterns, trends, and anomalies within extensive and intricate datasets.

• Assess and validate models to ensure accuracy, robustness, and scalability.

• Work alongside product managers and engineers to establish data science requirements and incorporate models into production systems.

• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and advocate for data science best practices.

• Keep abreast of emerging research and technologies while utilizing cutting-edge methodologies.

• Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics, or Mathematics, or equivalent professional experience in applying data science to complex issues.

• Over 5 years of experience in applying data science and machine learning to real-world problems.

• Proficient in Python and ML/data science frameworks like scikit-learn, XGBoost, MLFlow, and PyTorch.

• Experience with cloud-based data pipelines, including AWS or GCP.

• Strong understanding of ML algorithms, evaluation metrics, and model deployment.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• Previous experience in cybersecurity, threat intelligence, or risk scoring is a significant advantage.

• Familiarity with and interest in LLMs is a plus.

• Basic knowledge of Scala is an added advantage.
