Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the strategy, design, and ongoing development of the identity graph and the intelligence built upon it.

• Create identity resolution, identity intelligence, and fraud-solution capabilities within core products.

• Design and enhance a deterministic identity graph that accurately represents key entities, their relationships, and underlying business logic.

• Identify and prioritize features, signals, and patterns in interconnected data that enhance product value.

• Construct and oversee analytics pipelines for link analysis, identity resolution, clustering, ranking, anomaly detection, and discovery.

• Collaborate with data engineers on workflows for ingestion, enrichment, validation, publishing, quality assurance, and coverage.

• Work alongside product managers and stakeholders to convert ambiguous business challenges into actionable product features.

• Prototype and assess various approaches for identity resolution, identity intelligence, fraud detection, and risk intelligence.

• Choose technologies and frameworks while developing reusable documentation and decision-making guidelines.

• Set standards for data science, tools, methodologies, and practical use of LLM and agentic tooling across Provenir AI.

• Mentor engineers and data scientists, fostering team growth as value is demonstrated.

• Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to deliver production capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in graph data science, knowledge graphs, or graph/network analytics.

• Practical experience in building and utilizing graph structures with libraries or databases like Neo4j, Amazon Neptune, JanusGraph, GraphFrames, NetworkX, or similar.

• Familiarity with identity resolution, entity resolution, or link analysis.

• Proficient in Python and SQL.

• Authentic product mindset with the ability to prioritize based on business challenges and product outcomes.

• Capability to design analytical methodologies from ambiguous problems.

• Proven track record of functioning in production environments meeting quality, scale, and reliability standards.

• Excellent communication skills and comfort in working closely with product and engineering teams.

• Experience with graph-enabled products in identity, fraud, financial crime, risk, or AI-driven decision-making is a plus.

• Knowledge of graph embeddings or other graph-native machine learning methods is advantageous.

• Experience in ontology design, semantic modeling, or taxonomy development is beneficial.

• Familiarity with large-scale distributed data processing technologies such as Spark or Dask is advantageous.

• Background in building and expanding data science teams is a plus.

• Experience in scale-up or early-stage environments is favorable.
