Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, development, and upkeep of decision systems and predictive models that are essential for maintaining Progressive Leasing's competitive edge.

• Investigate both internal and external data sources, utilizing insights to enhance model performance.

• Create, execute, and analyze in-market experiments to evaluate new algorithms, technologies, and processes.

• Develop prototypes for uncertain business challenges using the latest technologies.

• Propose and drive strategic modifications through thorough analytics and innovative problem-solving.

• Present findings to senior stakeholders effectively.

• Identify, assess, and spearhead the integration of advanced analytics techniques.

• Guide and assist junior data scientists.

• Participate in code reviews, establish modeling standards, and promote best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

• Master's degree in a quantitative or technical discipline (such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science).

• Extensive experience with R, Python, machine learning frameworks, and SQL.

• Demonstrated success in applying advanced models to real-world issues and achieving measurable business results.

• Proficient in designing rigorous research and evaluation methodologies.

• Capability to independently manage projects from conception to deployment.

• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey technical results to non-technical audiences.

• Experience in engineering settings.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and Git.

• Proven experience in the use and implementation of agentic AI.

• Background in mentoring or leading technical initiatives.
