This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Execute designated data science projects within a defined scope, ensuring the delivery of precise and timely results.
• Develop and implement statistical and machine learning models, encompassing regression, classification, clustering, and forecasting.
• Apply analytical techniques to specified problems, datasets, and evaluation metrics.
• Utilize interactive development environments for data exploration, model prototyping, and validation of methodologies.
• Interpret model outputs and convert findings into actionable insights for stakeholders.
• Leverage AI tools and large language models to facilitate analysis, code generation, and research efforts.
• Employ prompt engineering techniques and assist in constructing straightforward AI-enabled workflows.
• Contribute to data science products, including models, pipelines, and reporting tools.
• Support workflows for model training, evaluation, and output generation.
• Document data science methodologies, model assumptions, and system behaviors.
• Produce regular reports and analyses for performance tracking.
• Clean, transform, and prepare extensive structured and unstructured datasets.
• Execute SQL and Python-based transformations from raw data sources.
• Collaborate with Snowflake and dbt workflows to develop analytics-ready datasets.
• Aid in the development and maintenance of data pipelines.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis.
• Adhere to software development best practices, including version control, documentation, and testing protocols.
• Write clear, maintainable, and testable code.
• Validate datasets, model outputs, and reporting findings.
• Engage in code reviews.
• Ensure reproducibility through thorough documentation and organized work.
• Communicate progress and results effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analytics Engineers, and business partners.
• Develop business acumen and expertise in assigned datasets, tools, and processes.
• Perform additional duties as required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in data science, analytics, or related positions, or an advanced degree.
• Strong foundational programming skills in Python; familiarity with R is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of statistical modeling and machine learning principles.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational data systems.
• Familiarity with Snowflake, dbt, or contemporary data platforms is a plus.
• Exposure to version control practices (Git) and development workflows.
• Familiarity with data science libraries such as scikit-learn and pandas is beneficial.
• Exposure to AI tools and prompt engineering concepts is a plus.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency.
• Strong intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening prior to starting work.
• Continuous viewing from and inputting to a computer screen.
• Ability to sit for extended periods.
• Travel as necessary, less than 10%.
