Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct comprehensive data analysis and visualization, encompassing trend analysis, predictive modeling, and forecasting.

• Work closely with stakeholders to pinpoint measurable questions and create data-driven solutions.

• Standardize, oversee, and visualize partner programmatic and financial reporting within a centralized database and dashboard framework.

• Aid in the development of a cohesive, data-informed understanding of global populations of concern utilizing publicly accessible data and self-service humanitarian contextual dashboards.

• Convey analytical insights and findings to government officials, policymakers, and the broader public.

• Create and sustain data management systems, databases, data dictionaries, dashboards, and relevant documentation.

• Assist with additional priority data analytics and reporting needs as identified by DOS and PRM.

• Implement data management best practices pertaining to data quality, security, privacy, governance, and documentation.

• Collaborate across organizations to build consensus and facilitate system authorization processes.

• Effectively manage time and resources while upholding established work standards and quality benchmarks.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in statistics, computer science, mathematics, data science, information systems, or a closely related field.

• At least 5 years of experience in data science, statistical modeling, machine learning, or a related domain; 10 years is preferred.

• Strong proficiency in Python, R, and SQL.

• Demonstrated experience in developing complex analytical models utilizing large or intricate datasets.

• Proven experience in conducting trend analysis, predictive modeling, forecasting, statistical modeling, and data visualization.

• Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or comparable data visualization tools.

• Knowledge of best practices in data management, including data quality, security, privacy, governance, and documentation.

• Experience in developing or maintaining databases, data management systems, data dictionaries, dashboards, and analytical documentation.

• Proven ability to analyze and visualize programmatic and financial reporting data.

• Capability to communicate analytical findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, including government officials and policymakers.

• Experienced in collaborating across organizations to define requirements, reach consensus, and support system authorization activities.

• DOS experience is preferred, especially in support of PRM, international affairs, humanitarian assistance, refugee affairs, or foreign policy initiatives.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance and fulfill DOS system-access and badging requirements.
