Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and implement real-time algorithms for courier compensation and incentives, effectively aligning supply with delivery demand.

• Develop constrained optimization and machine learning models aimed at enhancing spending efficiency and ensuring fair earnings.

• Lead frameworks for causal inference and experimentation, including switchback and geographical testing methodologies.

• Collaborate with Product and Tech teams to transform marketplace objectives into scalable, low-latency production services.

• Oversee the health of live models, address performance drift, and establish fail-safes for production environments.

• Provide mentorship to colleagues through code reviews and offering technical guidance.

• Create impactful real-time pricing solutions for both couriers and customers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated hands-on experience in developing machine learning models, dynamic pricing algorithms, or constrained optimization systems.

• Strong expertise in Python and SQL programming languages.

• Experience in deploying reliable models within production settings.

• Practical understanding of causal inference and marketplace experimentation, including A/B and switchback testing methodologies.

• A commitment to designing algorithmic incentives that are fair and transparent.

• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate across functions.

• Capability to utilize AI agents to expedite data analysis, coding, code reviews, and technical processes.

• Preferred: experience in deploying and maintaining models within low-latency, real-time streaming architectures.

• Preferred: background in on-demand logistics, ride-hailing, food delivery marketplaces, or algorithmic revenue management.

• Preferred: familiarity with technologies such as Kafka, Google BigQuery, AWS S3, DynamoDB, Kinesis, or contemporary ML tracking platforms.

• Preferred: experience with GPS data, spatial indexing methodologies like H3 or S2, and detailed time-series forecasting.
