Senior Data Product Manager, Finance Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the entire lifecycle of Finance Analytics products, encompassing business discovery, prioritization, validation, deployment, adoption, and ongoing improvement.

• Serve as the main liaison among Finance stakeholders, Data Developer teams, Analytics specialists, and platform teams.

• Convert financial discussions into concise, testable, and achievable requirements.

• Facilitate monthly financial closing by coordinating checkpoints, tracking critical business dependencies, consolidating risks, and ensuring functional validation.

• Define, organize, document, and oversee the approval of financial business rules.

• Lead investigations into financial discrepancies, anomalies, reconciliation gaps, and unexpected movements.

• Formulate hypotheses, evaluate materiality, engage subject-matter experts, and orchestrate technical analysis.

• Prioritize and manage the functional backlog effectively.

• Establish and uphold functional definitions of financial KPIs, encompassing calculation logic, ownership, source dependencies, granularity, validation criteria, and downstream effects.

• Collaborate with Data Developer teams during production incidents by assessing business criticality, expected behavior, and communication priorities.

• Develop and maintain operational documentation, including business rules, closing procedures, decision logs, known exceptions, and stakeholder maps.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in English (mandatory).

• Professional experience in Finance Analytics, Financial Planning & Analysis, Management Accounting, Controllership, Commercial Finance, or Business Intelligence.

• Strong understanding of P&L structures, including Gross Revenue, Net Revenue, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), Gross Profit, Contribution Margin, Trade Promotion, allocations, provisions, and financial reconciliations.

• Proven experience in managing data products, analytics products, or complex data-driven initiatives, including backlog ownership, business rule definition, and acceptance criteria.

• Experience in supporting or closely coordinating monthly financial closing processes.

• Ability to differentiate data issues from accounting, classification, timing, or business-rule issues.

• Capability to translate intricate financial requirements into clear, structured, and testable specifications for technical teams.

• Strong stakeholder management skills across Finance, Controllership, Accounting, Tax, Commercial Finance, Technology, and senior leadership.

• Adequate knowledge of data architecture and analytical workflows, encompassing source, transformation, semantic, and consumption layers.

• Basic to intermediate SQL proficiency for data validation and exploratory analysis.

• Nice-to-have: experience in CPG, FMCG, retail, food and beverage, or manufacturing sectors.

• Nice-to-have: familiarity with SAP Finance, SAP Controlling, SAP Material Ledger, or COPA.

• Nice-to-have: experience with profitability analytics at the customer, product, channel, region, or plant level.

• Nice-to-have: familiarity with enterprise reporting environments and semantic models.

• Nice-to-have: experience with financial planning, forecasting, or performance management platforms.

• Nice-to-have: familiarity with data governance, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality practices.

• Nice-to-have: experience with AI or automation initiatives applied to financial processes or knowledge management.

• Nice-to-have: experience in creating runbooks, KPI dictionaries, business-rule catalogs, or decision logs.
