This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee Google Cloud data infrastructure as code utilizing Terraform
• Administer BigQuery datasets, Datastream, Cloud Run functions and jobs, service accounts, and IAM
• Develop and manage CI/CD for data workloads
• Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for data freshness and failures
• Maintain consistency and reproducibility in staging and production data environments
• Implement PHI classification, column-level policy tags, masked views, least-privilege IAM, and secure defaults
• Execute automated checks for untagged PHI columns, permission drift, and publicly accessible services
• Collaborate with Infrastructure and Compliance teams on access reviews, audits, and migration runbooks
• Provide secure, self-serve environments for data science and analysis
• Assist in transitioning data team tasks, including diabetes outcomes reporting, into reliable scheduled production jobs
• Eliminate infrastructure bottlenecks for the Data team
• Document the platform through runbooks, definitions, and lineage
• Take ownership of the data platform and manage the Data team's infrastructure backlog
• Empower analysts and data scientists to independently deliver scheduled production work
• Extensive, hands-on knowledge of Google Cloud for data infrastructure
• Experience in producing environments with BigQuery, IAM, service accounts, and serverless computing such as Cloud Run
• Proficiency with Terraform or similar infrastructure as code solutions
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines like GitHub Actions for deploying data infrastructure
• Experience managing a production data platform comprehensively, encompassing ingestion, change data capture, layered warehouse, and monitoring
• Proficient in production-quality SQL and Python
• Experience in safeguarding sensitive data through least-privilege IAM, column-level security or policy tags, and automated drift checks
• Proven track record of collaborating closely with data scientists or analysts to remove infrastructure obstacles
