This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Facilitate the complete onboarding process for customers, which includes setting up accounts and warehouses, defining roles and permissions, ingesting data sources, and installing the Anvilogic application.
• Oversee the health and cost efficiency of Anvilogic-managed Snowflake accounts, proactively addressing any issues that may affect customers.
• Enhance queries, data formats, and task plans to ensure reliability, boost performance, and manage costs effectively.
• Detect and eliminate inefficiencies, such as unused tasks, oversized warehouses, and suboptimal queries.
• Generate cost reports and provide optimization recommendations for both internal teams and customers.
• Act as the primary escalation contact for Customer Success and Sales Engineering regarding complex Snowflake and Databricks challenges.
• Provide guidance to customers managing their own Snowflake and Databricks environments.
• Engage in on-call rotation and respond to incidents as needed.
• Automate operational tasks utilizing Python and Terraform.
• Share knowledge on data operations and cost-effective practices throughout Anvilogic through documentation and informal training sessions.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in data operations, data engineering, or database administration.
• At least 2 years of experience managing Snowflake at scale in a production environment.
• Proficient SQL skills with proven experience in optimizing query performance.
• Background in managing and optimizing Snowflake costs, including warehouse sizing, resource monitoring, and credit usage.
• Familiarity with Python and Terraform.
• Experience with on-call rotations and handling production incident responses.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Experience in operating Databricks environments.
• Knowledge of security data, such as endpoint and network logs.
• Experience with observability tools like Grafana and Sentry.
• Familiarity with cloud service providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience providing guidance to customers or internal teams on best practices for data platforms.
