Senior Data Modeler, Snowflake

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latvia.

📋 Description

• Design and create physical data models within the Snowflake environment.

• Prioritize models for scalability, performance, and ease of maintenance.

• Convert conceptual and logical models into schemas, tables, and views that are compatible with Snowflake.

• Collaborate with data engineers to enhance ETL/ELT processes and patterns for data integration.

• Ensure that models and metadata adhere to governance standards and utilize tools such as Collibra.

• Document the modeling and transformation logic to ensure traceability and compliance.

• Assist in the performance tuning and optimization of data pipelines.

• Engage with technical and business stakeholders in a distributed global setting.

• Facilitate the integration of regional data warehouses into a centralized Snowflake-based data platform for clients in the pharmaceutical industry.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4–7 years of experience as a Data Modeler or in a comparable position.

• Demonstrated expertise in physical data modeling using Snowflake and proficiency in SQL.

• Knowledge of data integration and principles of ETL/ELT.

• Familiarity with tools such as dbt, Matillion, or Fivetran is advantageous.

• Experience with metadata and data governance platforms, particularly Collibra, is preferred.

• Basic understanding of AWS services, especially S3, is a plus.

• Strong understanding of data modeling best practices, including star schema, normalization, and data vault methodologies.

• Capability to work independently in a remote, cross-functional environment.

• Exceptional communication and documentation abilities.

• Background in pharmaceutical or life sciences data and knowledge of regulatory frameworks is preferred.

• Familiarity with data quality tools such as Ataccama is preferred.
