Senior Data Modeler – OLTP, SQL Server

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models for OLTP systems.

• Convert business requirements into entities, relationships, attributes, and business rules.

• Develop ER models, tables, primary keys, foreign keys, constraints, and indexes.

• Implement normalization and 3NF principles in relational database design.

• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Managers, Architects, and Developers to meet application requirements.

• Assess and enhance existing database structures for data integrity, scalability, maintainability, and performance.

• Assist with database upgrades and new application functionalities.

• Utilize knowledge of transactional processing, relationships, concurrency, and referential integrity.

• Document database designs, assumptions, dependencies, and business rules.

• Leverage AI-assisted tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or GitHub Copilot to enhance SQL development, documentation, troubleshooting, and productivity.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8–10 years of comprehensive experience in Database Development.

• Over 3 years of practical experience in Data Modeling / Database Design.

• Proficient hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server / T-SQL.

• Strong grasp of OLTP and transactional databases.

• Experience with both logical and physical data modeling.

• In-depth knowledge of ER Modeling, Normalization / 3NF, Primary & Foreign Keys, Cardinality, Referential Integrity, Constraints, and Indexes.

• Background in designing databases for enterprise or commercial applications.

• Capability to comprehend business requirements and translate them into effective database designs.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

• Experience with Azure SQL or AWS RDS is a plus.

• Database performance tuning experience is advantageous.

• Understanding of transaction and concurrency concepts is beneficial.

• Audit/history data design experience is a plus.

• Experience in Healthcare, Pharma, or Life Sciences is desirable.

• Exposure to application development/API integration is a bonus.

• Familiarity with using AI tools for engineering productivity is a plus.
