This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, implement, and oversee compliance with data governance policies, standards, and procedures.

• Collaborate with business leaders, Product, Data & Technology teams, data stewards, owners, IT teams, and business stakeholders.

• Extract metadata, certify data, and investigate both internal systems of record and publicly accessible data sources.

• Identify, define, and maintain data definitions and metadata across various business functions and data domains.

• Review and document requirements for data translation and transformation intended for the data warehouse.

• Conduct data profiling, establish and monitor data quality rules, perform root-cause analysis, and resolve data issues.

• Maintain the data catalog with lineage, definitions, source and destination systems, transformations, reports, steward and custodian information, versioning, and audit trails.

• Complete report certifications and validate dashboards and reports.

• Identify opportunities for process enhancements and automate manual data governance workflows.

• Identify Personally Identifiable Information and establish masking and special-handling protocols.

• Evaluate the accuracy of new data sources and the effectiveness of data collection techniques.

• Design and develop custom Groovy workflows to streamline data governance processes.

• Design and configure metadata models that represent organizational data assets.

• Utilize or assist in the implementation of Master Data Management tools.

• Create training materials, use-case documentation, and implementation specifications.

• Define KPIs and document processes to monitor data governance, cataloging performance, and data accuracy.

• Mentor less experienced data professionals, sharing templates, reusable artifacts, and domain knowledge.

• Participate in stakeholder reviews, design sessions, working groups, workshops, and training sessions.

• Provide data, reports, and information to management.

• Track technology-related trends and errors, developing cross-functional solutions.

• Resolve high-level issues and contribute to Information Technology decisions.

• Monitor data catalog ingestion and address lineage, ingestion, and performance issues.

• Manage communications and stakeholder relationships with senior leaders, managers, and staff.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree directly related to the position or equivalent, required in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.

• A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the Bachelor’s degree.

• Master’s Degree directly related to the position or equivalent preferred.

• Minimum of five years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles.

• Proven expertise in developing and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.

• Hands-on experience working with data stewards and owners.

• Proficiency in SQL, Snowflake, and Power BI.

• Experience in querying and analyzing SQL relational and NoSQL databases, including Aurora DB, IBM DB2, MemSQL, MS SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres, and Snowflake.

• Knowledge of mortgage and privacy laws preferred.

• Experience with data governance tools such as Collibra.

• Strong understanding of data management principles, data quality, data security, and regulatory requirements.

• Experience in workflow development and/or business process diagramming.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Wiki, collaborative cloud-based programs, and third-party software applications.

• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, project management, organizational, interpersonal, and team-building skills.

• Ability to work independently, collaborate across functions, manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing requirements, and learn new technologies.

• Ability to work Monday to Friday during the business week.

• Capability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.

• Ability to accurately perceive, distinguish, and interpret visual and audio information.

• Ability to learn tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, and make timely workflow decisions.
