This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.
• Evaluate loan documentation, third-party materials, and investor guidelines to determine relevant insurance requirements.
• Detect gaps in existing policies and work alongside agents and borrowers to rectify non-compliant issues.
• Assess insurance certificates, binders, complete policies, and endorsements for precision and sufficiency.
• Analyze risks linked to insurance deficiencies and assess the feasibility of waivers.
• Prepare detailed justifications for investor endorsement.
• Maintain expertise in General Liability, Umbrella/Excess, Property, and associated coverages.
• Collaborate with internal business units and external partners, including borrowers, agents, third-party vendors, and GSEs.
• Oversee force-placed insurance processes as required.
• Represent the department during internal and external audits.
• Pinpoint opportunities to enhance workflows, bolster internal controls, and boost departmental efficiency.
• High School Diploma, GED, or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in the insurance sector, focusing on commercial risk, underwriting, or compliance.
• Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience is preferred.
• More than 2 years of experience with Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac (GSE) Multifamily Loans is preferred.
• Certification in Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), or Certified Risk Manager (CRM) is preferred.
• Extensive technical knowledge of commercial insurance coverages related to real estate lending and GSE standards.
• Excellent professional communication skills with the ability to craft clear, persuasive, and concise technical justifications.
• Proven ability to work independently, handle a high-volume workload, and meet deadlines effectively.
