This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage Engine’s risk tolerance framework, which includes delinquency guardrails, fraud rate targets, and escalation thresholds.

• Implement second-line governance and identify areas that require Risk approval.

• Establish and oversee Engine’s Risk Committee, focusing on cadence, reporting, escalation, and leadership communications.

• Govern first-line operations while supporting the development of the Sr. Manager, Fraud Operations and Sr. Manager, Credit.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to convert risk policy into product logic, application-stage controls, and automation processes.

• Lead discussions on risk appetite alongside the Sales team.

• Work in partnership with Legal/Compliance to address BSA/AML and card issuing compliance responsibilities.

• Convert operational risk signals into P&L terminology for finance, executive, and board presentations.

• Create a risk reporting framework for quarterly delinquency and fraud-rate updates.

• Define the risk governance and framework for Engine X, which is Engine’s corporate card and spend management product.


⛳️ Requirements

• 8–10+ years of experience in risk management, with a focus on credit; credit and fraud expertise is preferred.

• At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role.

• Proven ability to balance rigorous risk management with business growth objectives.

• Direct experience partnering with Product/Engineering to translate risk policies into product-related decisions and automation.

• Strong cross-functional influence, particularly with Sales and Product teams.

• Knowledge of BSA/AML, UDAAP, and card issuing compliance standards.

• Excellent communication skills suited for executive-level interactions.

• Relevant experience in fintech, card issuance, or lending is essential.

• Certifications such as FRM, CPA, or CFE are advantageous.

• Eligibility to work in the United States.

• Proficiency in English is assumed due to the language of the posting, though not explicitly required.
