Senior Data Engineer – Tieto Tech Consulting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable data platforms and solutions tailored to meet business requirements.

• Establish governance frameworks and concepts for access control.

• Create, implement, and enhance efficient data pipelines utilizing Databricks or similar technologies.

• Oversee and improve CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment processes.

• Implement containerization and orchestration techniques.

• Serve as a reliable technical advisor and collaborative partner for clients.

• Work alongside cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.

• Monitor and enhance data workflows to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Keep updated with trends in data engineering and apply innovative methodologies.

• Engage in continuous learning and actively mentor team members within an agile, full-cycle development framework.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in designing and implementing scalable data solutions, platforms, and integration interfaces.

• In-depth knowledge of data modeling, including dimensional modeling and normalization/denormalization techniques.

• Demonstrated experience with cloud-based data platforms; Azure preferred, but AWS or GCP are also acceptable.

• Familiarity with Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and architectural patterns such as Medallion.

• Proficient programming skills in Python and SQL.

• Strong software engineering mindset.

• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, orchestration, and contemporary development practices.

• Ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Consulting mindset with a focus on customer satisfaction.

• Proficiency in German at C1 level and English for stakeholder interactions.

• Enthusiasm for emerging technologies and a commitment to ongoing learning in the data and AI domains.

• High level of ownership, self-motivation, and capability to swiftly grasp new topics.

• Ability to constructively challenge existing norms.

• A team-oriented individual who takes initiative and demonstrates accountability.

• Relevant certifications in Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and Microsoft Azure are highly advantageous.
