Senior Data Engineer, GCP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain data pipelines (ETL/ELT) on Google Cloud Platform while adhering to engineering best practices.

• Oversee data loading processes and quality, ensuring data stores are reliable and accessible.

• Coordinate data workflows using Airflow.

• Assist in the design of technical data architecture and the relationships among tables.

• Create documentation for pipelines and data models, including entity-relationship diagrams, and manage code versioning using Git.

• Discuss the scope and timelines of activities directly with clients.

• Comprehend and implement business rules pertaining to auto insurance claims when crafting solutions.

• Act as a representative for the coordination team in both technical and business discussions.

• Convey technical and business insights to the team.

• Aid management in leading the team, driving projects, and ensuring adherence to delivery timelines and quality standards.

• Collaborate with a major insurance provider, maintaining constant engagement with the client and taking charge of the quality and governance of the data delivered.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in data engineering.

• Strong experience with SQL for query writing and analytical modeling.

• Demonstrated experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Familiarity with Airflow for managing data pipelines.

• Proficient in Python programming.

• Experience using Git for code version control.

• High proficiency in Excel.

• Solid programming logic and effective problem-solving capabilities.

• Experience in governance of data pipelines, including ETL and ELT development and load monitoring.

• Competence in technical documentation, encompassing entity-relationship models, code documentation, Git versioning, and Confluence.

• Familiarity with Jira.

• Google Cloud Platform certification is advantageous.

• Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is a plus.

• Previous experience in the insurance sector, particularly in claims, is beneficial.

• A graduate degree in a data-related discipline is a plus.

• Experience with other data orchestration tools is an advantage.

• Willingness to grasp business concepts and learn about the relevant industry.
