Senior Data Engineer, SQL DBA

📋 Description

• Oversee and enhance SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Oracle databases to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability.

• Develop and uphold database schemas, indexes, and partitions aimed at scalability and efficiency.

• Conduct database monitoring, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.

• Apply access control, encryption, auditing, and other best practices for security.

• Diagnose database performance challenges and enhance query efficiency.

• Ensure adherence to data governance, security policies, and industry regulations.

• Engage in daily standup meetings and prioritize tasks in line with business requirements.

• Convert business needs into actionable data engineering assignments.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure Power BI and data solutions are aligned with business goals.

• Guide team members and promote best practices in data management and reporting.

• Assess and implement AI and automation strategies to enhance delivery speed, quality, testing, reliability, and operational efficiency.

• Extensive expertise in SQL database administration, including performance tuning, security, and backup/recovery processes.

• Exceptional communication and leadership abilities for effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical teams.

• Capability to prioritize and manage team workloads while advancing business objectives.

• Strong problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Significant hands-on experience with contemporary AI models and developer tools to enhance software delivery speed and quality.

• Proficient in utilizing AI for SQL performance tuning, database reliability validation, migration planning, and operational runbook automation.

• Experience in applying AI to testing workflows, including the creation of test scenarios, regression coverage expansion, and identification of edge cases.

• Demonstrated ability to develop practical automation while ensuring quality, security, and auditability.

• Comfortable assessing AI output quality, selecting appropriate models/tools, and employing secure patterns for sensitive data.

• Proven record of achieving measurable efficiency improvements.

• Willingness to work during US EST hours.
