Senior Data Engineer – Software Engineering, AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Develop and improve Data Engineering solutions utilizing Python, Databricks, and AWS.

• Design, implement, and enhance scalable data pipelines, prioritizing performance, reliability, and maintainability.

• Employ Software Engineering principles in the creation of data solutions and pipelines.

• Contribute to the architectural design of systems and data solutions by assessing technologies, patterns, and technical methodologies.

• Facilitate the growth of Artificial Intelligence integration in software development by pinpointing opportunities for automation, productivity enhancement, and process optimization.

• Investigate and apply AI-driven solutions to aid in software and pipeline development, testing, documentation, maintenance, and evolution.

• Establish and advocate for best practices, development standards, and technical guidelines concerning AI usage.

• Aid in defining governance, security, and controls for the ethical adoption of AI-based solutions.

• Collaborate with experts across Data, Software Engineering, Architecture, and business teams.

• Perform technical analysis of solutions, highlighting opportunities for optimization, automation, and modernization.

• Offer technical support to the team by sharing knowledge and encouraging the adoption of engineering best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Senior Data Engineer.

• Advanced proficiency in Python, with a track record of developing robust and scalable solutions.

• Practical experience with Databricks.

• Familiarity with AWS, specifically in data and processing services.

• Strong background in Software Engineering, covering development principles, architecture, design, and coding best practices.

• Experience in system architecture and solution design.

• Knowledge of data pipeline development and optimization techniques.

• Capacity to transform technical and business requirements into scalable, sustainable solutions.

• Proficiency with Git, version control, and CI/CD practices.

• Ability to work autonomously in complex, cross-functional settings.

• Practical experience in applying Artificial Intelligence within Software Engineering.

• Familiarity with GenAI, LLMs, AI Agents, or AI-assisted development tools.

• Experience using AI for code generation, review, testing, documentation, or maintenance tasks.

• Knowledge of architectures and patterns for integrating AI solutions.

• Experience with MLOps, LLMOps, or AI governance practices.

• Understanding of PySpark, SQL, and Lakehouse architectures.

• Experience with automating and modernizing pipelines through AI.

• Experience in defining technology standards, guidelines, and governance frameworks.
