This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +1 more country.
• Oversee and enhance the performance, security, and availability of PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Oracle databases.
• Design and maintain database structures, including schemas, indexes, and partitions, to ensure scalability and efficiency.
• Conduct database monitoring, as well as backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Enforce access control, encryption, auditing, and other best practices for security.
• Diagnose and resolve database performance challenges while optimizing query effectiveness.
• Ensure adherence to data governance, security policies, and industry regulations.
• Engage in daily standup meetings and prioritize tasks based on business requirements.
• Convert business needs into actionable data engineering assignments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align Power BI and data solutions with overall business goals.
• Mentor colleagues and advocate for best practices in data management and reporting.
• Assess and implement AI and automation to enhance delivery speed, testing, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Demonstrated expertise in PostgreSQL database administration, focusing on performance tuning, security, and backup/recovery processes.
• Proven experience in managing PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Oracle databases.
• Exceptional communication and leadership abilities for collaboration with both technical and non-technical teams.
• Capability to prioritize and manage the workload of a team while advancing business objectives.
• Strong problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Significant hands-on experience with modern AI models and developer tools.
• Proficiency in utilizing AI for PostgreSQL performance tuning, database reliability validation, migration planning, and operational runbook automation.
• Experience in applying AI to testing workflows, including generating test scenarios, expanding regression coverage, and identifying edge cases.
• Proven track record of developing practical automation while ensuring quality, security, and auditability.
• Ability to evaluate the quality of AI output, select suitable models/tools, and implement secure practices for sensitive data.
• History of achieving measurable efficiency improvements.
• Willingness to work during US EST hours.
