Senior Data Engineer – Incentive Compensation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the design, upkeep, and ongoing enhancement of incentive calculation pipelines, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all outputs related to agent incentives.

• Spearhead the complete automation of the incentive pipeline.

• Transform every incentive process to be event-driven rather than schedule-driven.

• Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to convert business incentive rules and policy modifications into automated, auditable data workflows.

• Develop and sustain monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify anomalies in commission outputs before they affect agents.

• Establish rigorous quality assurance frameworks and reconciliation dashboards to guarantee 100% accuracy and auditability for every dollar distributed.

• Design the system to accommodate multi-line-of-business (Phones, Inverters, LPG) and multi-country complexities while minimizing manual overhead.

• Act as the final gatekeeper for changes in business logic, partnering with Sales and Finance VPs to translate new commission structures into scalable technical specifications.

• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Payroll managers, and field management teams to comprehend incentive program requirements and ensure data solutions reflect on-the-ground realities.

• Provide teams with the appropriate tools and information to address escalations from agents.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or any quantitative field.

• Over 3 years of experience in a data analytics engineer, business intelligence, or incentive operations position.

• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data extraction, transformation, and validation.

• Familiarity with Git, Bitbucket, and Airflow concepts and their applications.

• Proven ability to investigate complex data discrepancies, formulate hypotheses, and drive issues toward resolution.

• Experience with BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Redshift) and converting business requirements into data models.

• Strong stakeholder management skills, comfortable presenting findings to non-technical audiences and managing expectations across various teams.

• Keen attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership over data accuracy and process reliability.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of documenting processes clearly and explaining incentive logic to field teams.

• Adaptable and able to flourish in a fast-paced, cross-functional setting.

• Previous experience in incentive design, commission operations, or agent-facing programs is a significant advantage.
