Senior Data Engineer, Data Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Design and implement intricate SQL queries.

• Serve as a subject matter expert in Data Mapping, Programming, and Ingestion workflows.

• Conduct data analysis, mining, and investigative work utilizing SQL and/or Oracle.

• Deploy, configure, and oversee production solutions and services.

• Guide junior engineers and train new and less experienced system analysts.

• Recognize areas for organizational enhancement and suggest improvements to business processes.

• Ensure new technology requirements are seamlessly integrated into existing processes and product functionalities.

• Draft technical defect specifications and create or revise standard operating procedures.

• Engage in project meetings and actively contribute to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Diagnose and provide solutions for intricate issues.

• Monitor system operations and assist in resolving processing challenges.

• Investigate and analyze client data inquiries using internal data sources.

• Execute implementation tasks, including testing new file extracts and offering defect and enhancement support to development and product teams.

• Deliver technical operational guidance to Engineering teams for troubleshooting and new functionality requirements.

• Generate innovative concepts drawing from multi-disciplinary knowledge.

• Complete projects aligned with departmental goals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

• Eight (8) years of experience in data analysis and data pipeline development within the media, retail, healthcare, or payments processing sectors.

• Eight (8) years of experience in data aggregation, standardization, linking, quality assurance mechanisms, and reporting.

• Eight (8) years of experience with RDBMS (Oracle, MS SQL Server, Teradata, and Snowflake) and proficiency in SQL or other data integration/ETL tools.

• Eight (8) years of experience in programming languages, operating systems, and computer hardware platforms.

• Five (5) years of experience working with relational databases and ETL database functions.

• Five (5) years of experience in a data production environment supporting the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process.

• Any level of experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark.

• Any level of experience with ticketing and documentation tools, including Jira.

• Any level of experience implementing best practices in coding, including development and deployment.

• Any level of experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.

• All experience may be obtained concurrently.

• Ability to work remotely from anywhere in the U.S.
