This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, construct, deploy, and sustain scalable data pipelines and shared data products utilizing BigQuery, dbt, Python, and orchestration frameworks.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and client teams to convert business requirements into dependable and scalable technical solutions.
• Recognize recurring patterns across client implementations and transform them into reusable models, frameworks, and shared capabilities.
• Create reusable dbt models, macros, Python utilities, ingestion patterns, and configuration-driven solutions.
• Enhance data quality and reliability through automated testing, validation, reconciliation, monitoring, and observability.
• Optimize existing pipelines and architecture for scalability, maintainability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
• Integrate and normalize data from APIs and third-party platforms within the MarTech and AdTech ecosystem.
• Oversee production data pipelines across Wpromote’s client portfolio, troubleshoot intricate issues, and pinpoint systemic enhancements.
• Participate in technical design, architecture discussions, code reviews, and engineering standards.
• Offer technical guidance to fellow Data Engineers.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools for coding, codebase exploration, debugging, testing, documentation, and code review.
• Manage complex data pipelines and shared components while addressing product and client requirements.
• Assist in establishing consistent data quality, testing, observability, documentation, and reusable development standards.
• Advance client implementation patterns into shared data products, frameworks, and vertical-specific capabilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Over 5 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, data architecture, or a related domain.
• Proven experience in independently designing and delivering production data pipelines and data models.
• Advanced skills in SQL and BigQuery, backed by a solid understanding of relational and analytical database concepts.
• Intermediate to advanced programming proficiency in Python.
• Extensive experience with dbt, including data modeling, testing, documentation, and reusable development patterns.
• In-depth knowledge of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, data transformation, and data quality principles.
• Experience enhancing or refactoring data systems for better reusability, reliability, and scalability.
• Familiarity with orchestration technologies like Airflow, Dagster, AWS Glue, or Azure Data Factory.
• Understanding of Git, code review, CI/CD, and testing processes.
• Strong problem-solving and communication abilities, with the capability to navigate ambiguous requirements, assess technical tradeoffs, and convey decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Solid business and marketing insight, including familiarity with common marketing goals, KPIs, channels, and tactics.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted software engineering tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, OpenCode, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools.
• Experience in an advertising agency, consulting organization, or other multi-client settings, including mentoring or providing technical guidance to other engineers.
