Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Evaluate current Power BI reports, dashboards, datasets, and semantic models.

• Review existing Alteryx workflows to comprehend data ingestion and transformation processes.

• Identify the source databases, schemas, tables, views, and columns utilized by reports.

• Trace the data flow from source systems through Alteryx/ETL processes into Power BI.

• Grasp SQL queries, joins, filters, transformations, calculations, and aggregations.

• Establish relationships among Power BI reports, datasets, Alteryx workflows, and source tables.

• Create and sustain data lineage along with source-to-target mappings.

• Document reporting and data architecture for both technical and business stakeholders.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to confirm report logic and source data accuracy.

• Identify duplicate, unused, or potentially outdated data sources.

• Engage in collaborative in-person one-week sprints two to three times a year.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in data analytics using Power BI, Alteryx, and SQL.

• At least 4 years of experience in Power BI development and data modeling.

• Advanced proficiency in Power BI as an Expert/Power User.

• Advanced proficiency in Alteryx as an Expert/Power User.

• Strong SQL capabilities.

• Solid understanding of relational databases.

• Experience with data lineage, data mapping, and data discovery.

• Proven experience analyzing existing BI and reporting environments.

• Strong grasp of ETL and data transformation concepts.

• Familiarity with Power BI datasets, semantic models, and Power Query.

• Ability to reverse-engineer existing reports and data workflows.

• Knowledge of Azure / Microsoft data ecosystem is beneficial.

• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory is a plus.

• Awareness of SQL Server is advantageous.

• Understanding of data warehouse concepts is beneficial.
