Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead the development of an automated payments reporting and analytics platform.

• Design and construct daily ELT pipelines that integrate payment processors, CRM, and ERP data into a cloud data warehouse.

• Automate financial reporting to the general ledger, ensuring reconciliation with the reporting layer.

• Create and maintain a data-mapping layer that resolves customer identities across various systems.

• Model documented data marts that facilitate drill-down and variance analysis.

• Deliver data models that power KPI and forecasting dashboards.

• Implement monitoring for pipelines, conduct data-quality checks, and establish alerting and auditability.

• Collaborate with BI, finance, and integration partners to define requirements and deliver in phases.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in data engineering.

• Proven track record of managing production data pipelines from start to finish.

• Expert knowledge of SQL, including the ability to perform complex analytical queries, utilize window functions, optimize queries, and model dimensional/star schemas.

• Practical experience with a modern cloud data warehouse, preferably Snowflake or similar platforms like BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks.

• Strong familiarity with dbt or a comparable ELT transformation framework.

• Experience in building and scheduling ELT/ETL pipelines using Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, or another workflow orchestrator.

• Experience in designing idempotent, re-runnable, incremental loads.

• Experience in implementing data-quality testing, monitoring, and alerting.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Ability to engage directly with finance and business stakeholders, clearly explaining data-model decisions.

• Experience in the payments, FinTech, or financial services domain is a plus.
