This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine, +1 more country.
• Design and sustain the AWS-based data platform for a rapidly growing business.
• Develop and manage the data warehouse along with the pipelines that source data from product, CRM, and external systems.
• Create data models for analytics and reporting purposes.
• Ensure data models are thoroughly tested and documented.
• Participate in architectural decisions and provide technical guidance across the platform.
• Maintain data quality, performance, and scalability.
• Oversee data protection responsibilities within pipelines, including data retention, deletion, and subject access requests.
• Work collaboratively with product managers, analysts, and engineers across distributed teams.
• Utilize AI-enhanced engineering tools to expedite delivery while ensuring quality, security, and operational excellence.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in building and managing end-to-end production data pipelines.
• Proficiency in data warehouse design and modeling, which includes dimensional modeling, handling slowly changing dimensions, incremental and full-refresh builds, and creating schemas that analysts can query independently.
• Practical production experience with Redshift, covering aspects such as loading strategies, distribution and sort key design, workload management, query optimization, and cost management; experience with Snowflake or BigQuery is acceptable if a credible transition story is provided.
• Demonstrated experience running dbt in a production environment, including testing, documentation, and continuous integration.
• Strong SQL skills, particularly in tuning analytical queries, along with solid Python programming capabilities.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, such as Postgres (with JSONB) and DynamoDB or their equivalents.
• Proven ability to extract analytical value from NoSQL stores through change data capture, export patterns, denormalization, and schema drift management.
• Hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and managing data services on AWS, including S3, Glue, Athena, Lambda, EventBridge, Kinesis/Firehose, RDS, IAM, and CloudWatch.
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation and observability, including infrastructure as code (using Terraform).
• Experience in handling regulated personal data in the UK context, including GDPR compliance, data retention, and subject access requests.
• Comfortable utilizing AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in Russian is an advantage.
• Preferred qualifications include experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Dataverse data extraction; experience in mortgage, property, or financial services domains; familiarity with Looker or Metabase; knowledge of Fivetran or Airbyte; and AWS certification.
• 20 working days of paid vacation.
