This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of data pipelines from start to finish, including ingestion, transformation (dbt), warehousing (BigQuery), and delivery into reporting and BI (Omni).

• Conduct audits and map the current data systems prior to rebuilding, subsequently consolidating the stack to create a single source of truth.

• Develop and sustain dbt models and transformation logic, ensuring they are well-tested, documented, and supported by clear contracts.

• Implement practices for data quality, observability, and reliability to ensure that pipelines are managed proactively rather than reactively.

• Manage product analytics, including instrumentation and event tracking, data models for usage and adoption, as well as the metrics relied upon by GTM and product teams.

• Collaborate with GTM operations to unify reporting within a single tool, guaranteeing the appropriate data foundations for AI automation and tools.

• Assist in research for external reports by partnering with marketing to source, validate, and extract the necessary data.

• Prepare for high-volume and streaming ingestion, including telemetry/OpenTelemetry.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 4 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, specifically in building and maintaining production pipelines.

• Expertise in dbt, a cloud data warehouse (BigQuery or equivalent), and ETL/ELT tools.

• Strong SQL skills and proficiency in a general-purpose programming language such as Python for pipeline and transformation tasks.

• Excellent judgment in data modeling with an emphasis on data quality, testing, and reliability.

• A proactive approach to mapping and rationalizing complex environments before making enhancements.

• Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities, especially with non-engineering stakeholders.

• Proficient and critical use of AI in daily engineering tasks, evaluating AI outputs as thoroughly as a teammate's pull request.

• Experience with high-volume/streaming systems like ClickHouse or OpenTelemetry, or CDP/ETL tools such as Segment or Hevo is an advantage.

• Prior experience in a startup environment is a plus.
