Senior Data Engineer – AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Collaborate as a member of software delivery teams

• Assist clients in establishing production-ready data foundations

• Play a role in modernisation, platform development, data initiatives, and AI-readiness projects

• Utilize Databricks as the main platform for data engineering

• Create robust, well-designed data systems with a focus on production

⛳️ Requirements

• Current or recent experience in roles such as Data Engineer, Senior Data Engineer, Data Platform Engineer, or Databricks Engineer

• Practical experience with Databricks in a production environment, including Delta Lake, Spark/PySpark, Unity Catalog, or lakehouse projects

• Proficient in Python, testing, Git, CI/CD, code review, deployment, or Infrastructure as Code

• Familiarity with data quality, orchestration, monitoring, lineage, schema evolution, or data contracts

• Background in client delivery, stakeholder collaboration, modernisation initiatives, mentoring, or cross-engineering teamwork

• Experience with either AWS or Azure; both cloud platforms are acceptable

• Knowledge of ML/AI feature pipelines, MLflow, model lineage, embeddings, vector search, retrieval, or evaluation datasets
