Senior Data & Business Analytics Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Lead the strategy and operations for the organization's data platform.

• Manage the data warehouse/lakehouse environment to ensure architecture and operations are scalable, reliable, and cost-effective.

• Oversee the development and maintenance of data pipelines and integrations across various domains including clinical, operational, financial, human resources, and external data sources.

• Create and sustain enterprise data models, semantic layers, and standardized metric definitions.

• Set standards for development, testing, deployment, version control, code review, and platform governance.

• Monitor the health of data pipelines, system performance, data freshness, and resolve issues.

• Supervise executive dashboards, operational reporting, and enterprise analytics solutions.

• Maintain catalogs of key performance indicators, business definitions, data lineage, and ownership of reporting.

• Collaborate with leaders in operational, clinical, financial, quality, revenue cycle, and human resources.

• Ensure that regulatory, payer, quality, and governing board reporting is both accurate and timely.

• Establish data governance and privacy controls to uphold data quality, security, privacy, role-based access, lineage, and compliance.

• Oversee data quality monitoring, issue resolution, and management of system-of-records.

• Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain professionals in data engineering and business intelligence.

• Set up processes for intake, prioritization, and resource management for analytics initiatives.

• Manage vendor relationships, technology investments, licensing, budgets, and efforts related to system selection and implementation.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, statistics, health informatics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

• Over 8 years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or business intelligence.

• More than 10 years of direct management experience with technical staff.

• Proficient in advanced SQL.

• Proven experience taking ownership of a production data warehouse or lakehouse.

• Practical experience with a modern transformation or orchestration stack, such as dbt, Airflow, Azure Data Factory, or similar tools.

• Experience with an enterprise BI platform like Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Qlik, including governance and administration of workspaces.

• Knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security requirements as they relate to analytic data.

• Demonstrated success in delivering reporting that positively impacted operational or financial outcomes.

• Valid Colorado driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire, along with a clean driving record.

• Preferred: experience in healthcare with EHR reporting data, such as Epic Clarity and Caboodle, Oracle Health, Meditech, or athenahealth.

• Preferred: understanding of revenue cycle metrics such as denials, days in AR, charge lag, and net collection rate.

• Preferred: familiarity with reporting for quality and value-based care, including HEDIS, MIPS, or CMS star ratings.

• Preferred: experience with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud and their associated data services.

• Preferred: knowledge of Python or similar scripting for pipeline and automation tasks.

• Preferred: experience in master data management, provider and location hierarchies, or patient matching.

• Bilingual/bi-cultural candidates are preferred.
