This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Design and oversee scalable, fault-tolerant data pipelines utilizing Microsoft Fabric, SAP ECC 6.0, and Google BigQuery.
• Architect data extraction from SAP ECC modules including FI/CO, MM, SD, and PP, incorporating medallion layering in Fabric Lakehouse and OneLake.
• Develop batch and near-real-time ingestion methods, encompassing change-data-capture strategies.
• Formulate integration strategies connecting Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.
• Assess ingestion, orchestration, and storage methodologies for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and maintainability.
• Create enterprise semantic models for natural-language querying, Copilot integration, and machine learning workflows.
• Construct and govern validated business logic, KPI definitions, feature stores, and training datasets.
• Implement data governance, lineage, security, quality, access control, and cost-optimization frameworks.
• Convert business strategy into a comprehensive data architecture roadmap and articulate trade-offs to executives.
• Collaborate with leaders in finance, operations, supply chain, and sales.
• Mentor data engineers, BI developers, and analysts.
• Establish technical standards, review designs, manage complex architectural escalations, and develop business cases for data investments.
• Over 5 years of experience in data engineering or architecture.
• More than 1 year in a senior or lead architect role.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Factory, Power BI semantic models, and dataflows) or a comparable platform.
• Proven proficiency in extracting and modeling data from SAP ECC 6.0, with a solid understanding of SAP table structures and extraction challenges.
• Strong expertise in dimensional and semantic modeling, including Kimball methodologies, star schemas, and governed metric layers.
• Demonstrated capability to design architectures that support AI and machine learning workloads.
• Proven track record of linking technical decisions to quantifiable business outcomes and effectively communicating these to executive stakeholders.
• Experience integrating diverse cloud environments (Azure and GCP) is preferred.
• Familiarity with AI and LLM-driven analytics is preferred.
• Background in manufacturing, supply chain, or consumer products data domains is preferred.
• Production experience with Google BigQuery, including partitioning, performance optimization, and cost management is preferred.
