This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Evaluate current data marts
• Conduct comprehensive data profiling
• Analyze and develop design and mapping specifications
• Identify necessary dimensions for facts
• Execute thorough data profiling of tables included in facts
• Design and validate Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes
• Create Power BI reports to test dimensions
• Assess dimensions and facts for quality assurance
• Revise JOIN as-is data models to incorporate new fact attributes
• Prepare the required data
• Address minor adjustments in delivered data marts
• Share feedback and lessons learned at project conclusion
• Facilitate the clear definition and management of data architecture, encompassing principles, strategies, methods, models, standards, guidelines, and plans
• Promote data models and practices that minimize redundancy through reuse and sharing
• Identify and document enterprise data requirements
• Advocate practices that enhance data quality
• Develop and direct transition plans steering current data towards its ideal future state
• Lead or assist in communication activities related to Sectors and Government of Alberta Enterprise Architecture data architecture
• Contribute to the enterprise architecture framework and corporate solution design and delivery methodologies
• Address requests for extensions to the data architecture scope
• Provide information, advice, guidance, and consultancy to initiatives and projects aligning with the data architecture
• Establish and engage in design and architectural reviews
• Support other members of the enterprise architecture team as necessary
• Advanced-level data architecture expertise
• Experience in reviewing and profiling data marts and database tables
• Proficiency in analyzing and creating design and mapping specifications
• Familiarity with dimensions and facts in data warehouse design
• Experience in developing and testing Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes
• Expertise in Power BI report development
• Experience in testing dimensions and facts for quality assurance
• Proficiency in updating data models and incorporating fact attributes
• Knowledge of enterprise data requirements and data governance
• Ability to formulate data architecture principles, strategies, models, standards, guidelines, and plans
• Understanding of data redundancy reduction through reuse and sharing
• Capability to develop transition plans for current and future-state data
• Comprehension of Government of Alberta Enterprise Architecture (GAEA) data architecture and IMT strategies
• Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks and solution design and delivery methodologies
• Integrated and agile architecture
• Interactive reporting capabilities
