Senior Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Evaluate current data marts

• Conduct comprehensive data profiling

• Analyze and formulate design and mapping specifications

• Identify necessary dimensions for facts

• Execute thorough data profiling of tables included in facts

• Design and test Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes

• Create Power BI reports to test various dimensions

• Assess dimensions and facts for quality assurance

• Update existing JOIN data models to incorporate new fact attributes

• Stage the required data

• Resolve minor issues in delivered data marts

• Provide insights and lessons learned during project closeout

• Facilitate the precise definition and management of data architecture, which includes principles, strategies, architectures, methods, models, standards, guidelines, and plans

• Advocate for data models and practices that minimize redundancy through reuse and sharing

• Identify and document enterprise data requirements

• Encourage practices that enhance data quality

• Develop and lead transition plans to guide current data towards its ideal future state

• Lead or assist in communication activities related to Sectors and the Government of Alberta Enterprise Architecture data architecture

• Contribute to the enterprise architecture framework and corporate solution design and delivery methodologies

• Address requests for extensions to the data architecture scope

• Offer advice, guidance, and consultancy for initiatives and projects aligned with the data architecture

• Establish and engage in design and architectural reviews

• Provide support to other enterprise architecture team members as necessary

⛳️ Requirements

• Senior-level experience in data architecture as indicated by the role title

• Proficient in reviewing and profiling data marts and fact tables

• Skilled in creating data design and mapping specifications

• Understanding of dimensions and facts within data warehouse architecture

• Experience in developing and testing ETL processes

• Proficient in developing Power BI reports

• Familiarity with JOIN data models and court data reporting architecture

• Knowledgeable in data governance, enterprise data requirements, data quality, and data architecture standards

• Understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and solution design and delivery methodologies
