This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Create, develop, and sustain logical and physical data models specific to credit and lending sectors.
• Convert business requirements into scalable data architectures utilizing dimensional modeling, normalized models, Data Vault methodologies, and principles of domain-driven design.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, business stakeholders, and subject matter experts to ensure alignment on business definitions and governance standards.
• Create and maintain data dictionaries, mapping documents, lineage artifacts, and metadata documentation.
• Enhance data models for analytics, reporting, regulatory requirements, dashboards, and downstream applications.
• Facilitate the onboarding and integration of mortgages, credit cards, secured lending, and revolving credit products.
• Assess model scalability, usability, and performance within Snowflake environments.
• Contribute to the bronze, silver, and gold medallion architecture layers.
• Support data quality initiatives, validation of business rules, and cross-system reconciliation activities.
• Aid enterprise data transformation efforts for a financial services client.
• Over 8 years of experience in data analysis, data modeling, data architecture, or related fields.
• Robust enterprise data modeling experience within financial services, banking, lending, or other regulated sectors.
• Comprehensive understanding of credit and lending concepts, including loan lifecycle management, balances, payment structures, interest calculations, and customer-account relationships.
• Proficient in dimensional modeling, third normal form (3NF), and/or Data Vault methodologies.
• Extensive experience in translating business requirements into scalable, governed data structures.
• Familiarity with enterprise data governance frameworks and metadata management practices.
• Practical experience with Snowflake, AWS, or other cloud-based data platforms.
• Capability to interpret, reconcile, and standardize complex financial data definitions across various source systems.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and documentation abilities.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in English is essential.
• Must currently be authorized to work in Canada.
• Bonus: Experience with ERwin Data Modeler and advanced ERwin data modeling.
• Bonus: Familiarity with lakehouse or medallion architecture environments.
• Bonus: Exposure to Collibra or similar data governance and metadata platforms.
