This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
β’ Assist the Research and Policy Partnerships team by ensuring that complex assessment and product data is accessible, reliable, and user-friendly.
β’ Utilize SQL, Python, and/or R to extract, clean, transform, link, and prepare extensive assessment and product datasets.
β’ Create and maintain reproducible data workflows and pipelines.
β’ Execute data pulls and analyses of HMH product usage data for Product Efficacy and Validation as well as for internal stakeholders.
β’ Collaborate with researchers to convert research inquiries and analytic specifications into datasets and data structures.
β’ Design and implement quality assurance procedures.
β’ Document data sources, definitions, code, and processes comprehensively.
β’ Resolve data issues and explore unexpected patterns or discrepancies.
β’ Identify opportunities to automate or enhance recurring data processes.
β’ Communicate data availability, limitations, definitions, and appropriate usage to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
β’ Operate a computer and engage with colleagues through meetings, calls, and online platforms.
β’ 2-5 years of relevant experience (or a combination of experience and coursework).
β’ M.S. in statistics, education, psychology, economics, or a related discipline.
β’ Proficiency in advanced data manipulations, processing large datasets, and optimizing code.
β’ Expertise in Python and/or R for data processing, manipulation, automation, and analysis.
β’ Strong SQL skills with demonstrated experience in querying and manipulating large, complex datasets.
β’ Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to independently troubleshoot complex data issues.
β’ Experience in designing and executing quality assurance procedures.
β’ Experience in translating analytic or research needs into data specifications and solutions.
β’ Experience in documenting technical processes clearly and collaborating with researchers as well as technical and non-technical colleagues.
β’ Preferred: Familiarity with Snowflake, Postgres, Amazon Redshift, or other cloud-based data warehouse/database systems.
β’ Preferred: Experience with large-scale education, assessment, longitudinal, or product usage data.
β’ Preferred: Knowledge of Tableau or Power BI.
β’ Preferred: Experience in a collaborative research setting or supporting quantitative researchers.
β’ Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
β’ Must be able to collaborate through face-to-face meetings, conference calls, and online meetings.
β’ Salary range of $80,000 to $95,000.
