Senior Data Analyst – Analytics and Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with FP&A leadership to enhance and fundamentally transform reporting, analytical, and planning processes.

• Deconstruct intricate Excel workbooks and manual procedures, including data sources, business logic, calculations, and user requirements.

• Create and implement automated solutions utilizing SQL, Python, ETL/data transformation, APIs, and contemporary AI tools.

• Address data quality, mapping, reconciliation, and granularity challenges across extensive, imperfect datasets from multiple systems.

• Conduct exploratory analyses to uncover trends, anomalies, relationships, and underlying business drivers.

• Develop dashboards and reporting experiences that support business decision-making.

• Construct AI-assisted interactive HTML reporting tools that refresh efficiently without the need for repeated AI calls.

• Formulate driver-based analysis, exception reporting, and monitoring strategies.

• Investigate and create AI-assisted workflows involving LLMs, data, tools, APIs, and reporting processes.

• Collaborate with Data Analytics and Data Engineering teams on shared infrastructure, standards, data pipelines, and data marts.

• Provide leadership, mentor by example, and help establish analytical rigor.

• Convert complex analytical insights into actionable recommendations for Finance leaders and business stakeholders.

• Assist in building and shaping the FP&A AI repository, which includes documentation, conventions, and dependable workflows for AI assistants.

• Report directly to the FP&A Director and closely collaborate with centralized Data Analytics and Data Engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-10 years of relevant experience required.

• Proficient in SQL, including joining tables, tracing grain, identifying duplicates, and validating results in unfamiliar schemas.

• Practical experience with Python for data transformation, analysis, and automation.

• Strong competency in ETL/ELT processes, including defining data requirements, validating outputs, and collaborating with Data Engineering.

• Experience in end-to-end report and dashboard creation using Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or standalone interactive HTML/web-based reports.

• Proven track record in automating manual, recurring data or reporting workflows.

• Comfortable with learning and adopting new AI-assisted tools and workflows.

• Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to deconstruct complex, undocumented legacy workbooks.

• Capable of exploring data and formulating and testing hypotheses to understand underlying causes.

• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related quantitative/technical field strongly preferred; equivalent experience is acceptable.

• Experience in supporting Finance, FP&A, Strategy, Operations, or another analytically intensive business function preferred.

• Familiarity with revenue, margin, profitability, forecasting, and variance analysis preferred.

• Experience in modernizing legacy Excel-based reporting or analytical processes preferred.

• Experience in working with data distributed across multiple systems preferred.

• Experience in a fully remote, distributed team environment preferred.

• Exposure to AI/agentic tooling or the application of AI in business processes preferred.

• Experience in machine learning, statistical modeling, or formal data science is welcome but not required.
