Senior Cybersecurity, Financial Compliance SME

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as a senior subject matter expert in cybersecurity and financial compliance for the Vantage system.

• Analyze and implement NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5, alongside DoD and Army cybersecurity standards, Financial Management overlays, and FIAR requirements.

• Evaluate the security and compliance status of Vantage by examining controls, implementation evidence, processes, and system documentation.

• Detect control deficiencies and compliance gaps, and formulate actionable remediation plans.

• Provide guidance on the implementation, inheritance, assessment, and ongoing monitoring of NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5 controls.

• Customize technical and procedural controls to fit the Vantage environment and Financial Management mission.

• Create, sustain, and enhance security policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), control implementation directives, and governance documentation.

• Draft policy documents and TTPs that facilitate continuous compliance and readiness for audits.

• Lead the development, collection, validation, and upkeep of security and financial audit evidence, as well as compliance artifacts.

• Ensure that documentation is comprehensive, traceable, up-to-date, and ready for audit purposes.

• Support and advocate for the Vantage compliance stance during cybersecurity evaluations, control validations, financial audits, FIAR activities, and formal assessments.

• Address findings, coordinate corrective measures, and monitor remediation until closure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Remote position with West Coast hours; must be based in the U.S.

• Possession of an active Interim Secret or higher security clearance.

• Bachelor's degree required.

• Over 10 years of experience in Cybersecurity and Risk Management Framework (RMF).

• Hands-on experience with NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5 security and privacy controls in DoD and Army operational contexts.

• Specialized knowledge in Financial Management overlays and a thorough understanding of FIAR mandates as they relate to enterprise software and data systems.

• Extensive experience in preparing and managing compliance artifacts and defending system posture during formal security evaluations and financial audits.

• Expert-level proficiency with eMASS, including System Registration, Control Tracking, Vulnerability Management, and Package Generation.

• Exceptional ability to write security policies, SOPs, and TTPs tailored to the Vantage system.

• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification required.

• Active DoD Secret security clearance is necessary.

• Must be able to work West Coast hours.

• Ability to work independently with minimal direction.

• High level of self-sufficiency and capability to identify compliance gaps, devise solutions, and see them through to completion with limited supervision.
