Senior Cyber Security Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee and uphold security measures in accordance with vendor recommendations, CIS benchmarks, and Microsoft best practices.

• Offer second-level support to Cyber Security Analysts.

• Engage in departmental, work unit, and credit union meetings.

• Work collaboratively with security partners to enhance organizational resilience.

• Evaluate information risks to safeguard member data and secure service access.

• Manage and classify security events and incidents.

• Document findings and propose corrective measures.

• Conduct vulnerability assessments.

• Assess the security posture of IT infrastructure and vendor relationships.

• Identify and record risk mitigation strategies.

• Investigate and resolve security incidents through second-level escalations.

• Perform proactive threat hunting, security reviews, and internal audits.

• Develop security playbooks.

• Optimize alert management procedures.

• Provide weekly updates on project status.

• Foster awareness of regulatory standards, upstream risks, and industry best practices.

• Analyze server, network, and IT service needs and suggest enhancements.

• Monitor emerging security threats.

• Acquire software and services in line with procurement policies.

• Maintain documentation for sustainability and knowledge sharing.

• Create, document, and test security readiness procedures.

• Oversee the network perimeter, endpoints, and infrastructure.

• Evaluate risk and support regulatory compliance.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in an Information Technology environment.

• Strong analytical and investigative capabilities.

• Experience in managing IT security controls within an organization.

• Familiarity with technical infrastructure, networks, applications, and systems.

• Comprehensive understanding of adversary tactics and techniques, including the MITRE ATT&CK framework.

• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent certification.

• Advanced skills and/or certification in cyber security principles, ITIL Foundations, and COBIT Governance.

• Advanced skills and/or certification in Microsoft Enterprise systems.

• Extensive knowledge of M365 Security, Microsoft Azure Security, Windows Enterprise environments, and Windows operating systems.

• Proficient blue team skills, encompassing system security, system auditing, threat intelligence, incident management, and detection.

• Exceptional customer service, communication, organizational abilities, attention to detail, and project management skills.
