This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the primary instructional designer for designated internal FranklinCovey initiatives.
• Develop and tailor learning experiences, content, and tools for FranklinCovey products, internal processes, toolkits, enablement materials, and internal training programs.
• Function as an instructional designer for specific custom client projects.
• Collaborate with Solution Consultants and clients to modify FranklinCovey content to suit particular client environments.
• Adapt courses, modules, tools, and reinforcement assets to fit client industry, culture, language, and use cases while maintaining FranklinCovey's intellectual property and standards.
• Utilize adult learning principles, learning science, and experience design frameworks to foster behavior change and enhance performance outcomes.
• Develop design documents, outlines, storyboards, and wireframes.
• Incorporate practice, reflection, managerial involvement, assessments, and on-the-job experimentation into the design.
• Collect feedback from pilots, account teams, delivery consultants, internal stakeholders, and client engagements to improve designs.
• Keep documentation and version control for reuse, scaling, and productization purposes.
• Prioritize and organize projects, estimate effort, and oversee timelines in collaboration with the Custom Operations Manager.
• Facilitate working sessions, design reviews, and feedback processes.
• Convey design rationale, options, and trade-offs to non-design stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Content, Delivery, Practices, Marketing, Product, and other internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on requirements, scope, timelines, and success criteria.
• Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design.
• Over 7 years of experience in instructional design or learning experience design.
• Experience, preferably in a corporate, consulting, or professional services setting.
• Proven track record in leading projects that involve both the creation of new designs and the customization of existing content.
• Capability to design across ILT, VILT, digital, blended, and microlearning formats.
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies, including ADDIE, SAM, and design thinking.
• Exceptional written and visual communication abilities.
• Strong skills in project and time management.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
• Comfort in collaborating with diverse, cross-functional teams and integrating feedback into an iterative design process.
• Proficiency in learning authoring and design tools.
• Experience in leadership development, productivity, trust, execution, or culture-change content areas.
• Familiarity with FranklinCovey frameworks, models, and brand voice.
• Experience in partnering with facilitators/delivery consultants and product/content teams.
• Proficiency with project management tools such as Asana and Smartsheet.
• Ability to work remotely from anywhere within the contiguous United States.
