This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Execute commercial credit processes and controls for the central credit utility.

• Independently analyze medium- to high-complexity financial statements of commercial customers and prospects in accordance with Bancorp guidelines.

• Assess and interpret business and personal financial statements, generating reports for credit underwriting and risk assessment.

• Engage with portfolio managers and relationship managers about spreading guidelines, financial reporting obligations, and financial covenants.

• Act as a subject matter expert on industry-specific nuances and their implications for financial reporting and default probability ratings.

• Assist in evaluating and monitoring risks associated with the Central Credit Utility loan portfolio.

• Carry out assigned portfolio reviews and renewals in line with departmental procedures and the Commercial Credit Policy.

• Support special projects and perform administrative tasks for portfolio managers.

• Provide assistance to Central Credit Utility leadership as required.

• Identify, evaluate, manage, monitor, and report on risks within the Bank's risk appetite.


⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or economics, or equivalent experience.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial credit or a related field.

• Proven experience in spreading various types of financial statements, including those from commercial and industrial sectors, personal financial statements, individual tax returns, commercial real estate, governmental and institutional entities, dealer floor plans, not-for-profit organizations, and specialty types.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Familiarity with Fifth Third internal applications such as CCAS, ACE, and AFS is preferred.

• Knowledge of vendor-supported systems like Moody's Risk Analyst and Crowe Navigator is desirable.

• Understanding of accounting principles and basic credit underwriting concepts.

• Familiarity with industry-specific nuances and their effects on financial reporting and default probability ratings.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Capability to work independently and adhere to deadlines.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• No supervisory experience is required; there are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this role.
