This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Conduct thorough reviews of individual credit files to evaluate the quality of underwriting and portfolio management.
• Independently verify and adjust risk ratings as deemed necessary.
• Execute comprehensive credit risk assessments and select loan samples based on risk insights.
• Identify loans exhibiting potential or clearly defined weaknesses.
• Analyze trends impacting the quality of the loan portfolio and pinpoint potential problem areas.
• Evaluate compliance with internal credit policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
• Lead reviewer teams during Credit Risk Reviews (CRR) examinations.
• Review credit portfolios and compile reports with conclusions and recommendations.
• Assess complex commercial private credit transactions, including underwriting structures, borrower performance, cash flow sufficiency, covenant compliance, collateral coverage, and repayment capacity.
• Evaluate activities related to First and Second Line credit risk management, independently challenging underwriting decisions, risk ratings, portfolio monitoring, and risk governance.
• Review portfolio credit performance, concentration risks, industry exposure trends, and emerging credit risk themes.
• Assess lending alignment with the Bank’s Risk Appetite Statement, credit policies, and regulatory expectations.
• Evaluate portfolio surveillance, management of watchlists, identification of criticized assets, stress testing, and early warning indicators.
• Collaborate with business leaders, Credit Risk Management, Portfolio Risk teams, and regulatory bodies.
• Present findings and credit risk issues to senior and executive management.
• Lead or oversee complex reviews and ad-hoc projects.
• Mentor and guide junior team members.
• Engage in special projects, ongoing credit risk intelligence efforts, and training initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement change strategies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• 7+ years of applicable credit experience.
• Previous credit risk review experience is preferred.
• A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
• A Master's Degree is preferred.
• Credit Risk Certification (CRC) is preferred.
• Moody's Analytics Certificate in Commercial Credit is preferred.
• Advanced understanding of private credit and direct lending structures, including sponsor-backed financing, unitranche facilities, mezzanine debt, recurring revenue lending, and other complex lending arrangements.
• Expert credit skills, including the ability to independently assign risk ratings in accordance with Key’s internal policies, risk rating methodologies, and external regulatory guidance.
• Exceptional business writing and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments, identify obstacles, communicate delays, and delegate tasks as required.
• Strong leadership skills, including the capacity to lead complex reviews or ad-hoc projects, manage staff, and provide performance feedback.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating as necessary.

• Willingness to travel occasionally, including overnight stays.
