This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the structuring, analysis, and approval of intricate credit transactions.
• Balance credit risk with the business requirements within the designated specialized vertical or region.
• Actively monitor portfolio risk and pinpoint industry trends and economic factors that influence credit quality.
• Collaborate as a strategic partner with sales teams and senior leadership on credit negotiations and deal execution.
• Work alongside clients, legal advisors, and internal teams to structure and negotiate credit agreements.
• Guide junior credit professionals and deliver training on best practices in credit risk.
• Identify and present areas for improvement in credit processes and procedures to senior leadership.
• Utilize independent judgment and discretion to make decisions regarding the assigned portfolio.
• Analyze and address issues related to the assigned portfolio.
• Undertake special projects and additional responsibilities as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with relevant policies, standards, laws, and regulations.
• Complete mandatory compliance training.
• Function as a strategic advisor and thought leader to support portfolio health and the objectives of bank growth.
• Preferred undergraduate degree (4 years or equivalent); a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, or 12+ years of equivalent experience.
• A Master’s degree or postgraduate equivalent, MBA, or CFA is preferred.
• Over 10 years of experience in commercial credit analysis, structuring, underwriting, portfolio management, and risk analysis.
• More than 10 years of experience in the direct specialized line of business.
• Extensive expertise in structuring and negotiating complex credit agreements.
• Strong leadership abilities with a capacity to influence credit strategy and policy.
• Comprehensive understanding of macroeconomic factors and their effects on credit risk.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large portfolios and counsel senior executives.
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Proficient in legal documentation, including credit agreements, relevant to the supported line of business.
• Ability to develop junior associates, collaborate with internal and external legal counsel, and negotiate directly with clients.
• Knowledge of complex commercial lending structures, industry trends, credit policies, compliance standards, and legal considerations in lending.
