
Senior Counsel β Liability Insurance Defense

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Manage a caseload of high-exposure cases and intricate litigation matters independently.
β’ Utilize litigation skills and techniques to either try cases to verdict or negotiate resolutions.
β’ Conduct comprehensive legal research.
β’ Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery documents, and other legal paperwork.
β’ Attend court events, depositions, and other meetings autonomously.
β’ Offer thorough case analysis and recommendations to insured clients and Claim partners.
β’ Work together with expert witnesses and consultants on case strategies, technical issues, and litigation testimony.
β’ Develop and sustain relationships with internal and external clients and business partners.
β’ Provide training sessions, seminars, and legal updates to insured clients and Claim partners.
β’ Guide and mentor attorneys and legal support staff.
β’ Initiate special projects and assist in achieving office goals and business objectives.
β’ Leverage available technology, case management systems, and automation tools.
β’ Travel as necessary to fulfill business requirements.
β’ Execute additional duties as assigned.
β’ 7+ years of experience in insurance defense litigation as a practicing attorney.
β’ Proven ability to try cases before a jury and a solid track record of litigating jury trials.
β’ Strong technical expertise in the relevant areas of practice.
β’ Exceptional oral and written advocacy capabilities.
β’ Demonstrated success in summary judgment and/or appellate matters.
β’ Comprehensive understanding of the bench, bar, local jurisdictional practices, and adversaries.
β’ Skills in building collaborative relationships with colleagues, clients, and business partners.
β’ Leadership, mentoring, and influencing abilities.
β’ Strong decision-making and advanced negotiation skills.
β’ Capacity to manage multiple priorities with a focus on detail, urgency, and responsiveness.
β’ Adaptable and flexible mindset.
β’ Juris Doctorate or equivalent International legal degree; must be a graduate of an accredited law school.
β’ 7 years of experience as a practicing attorney.
β’ Active and in good standing license to practice law in the necessary state(s).
β’ Regularly engaged in hearings, trials, dispositive motion arguments, depositions, or other court proceedings.
β’ Ability to travel to required meetings.
β’ A valid driver's license may be required based on location.
