Senior Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Offer direct legal assistance to mortgage/HELOC products and business units as a Senior Counsel within the Legal Compliance team.

• Oversee and address legal, regulatory, and product challenges associated with mortgage/HELOC financial products and their respective business units.

• Collaborate with external counsel and various business units.

• Provide guidance and support concerning legal, regulatory, and product matters related to debt collection, privacy, consumer credit compliance, lending, and solar financing.

• Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, as well as Company policies and procedures.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient as a lawyer; capable of managing a substantial workload in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration within and across departments as well as externally; must proactively offer counsel to clients.

• Strong judgment: ability to make well-reasoned recommendations; capacity to identify who should remain informed.

• Self-motivated individual with strong business acumen and a sense of urgency, integrity, and fairness.

• Effective team player, maintaining composure under pressure.

• Self-assured and capable of instilling confidence in clients.

• Must possess a JD degree from an accredited law school.

• Candidate should have experience advising mortgage lenders, financial institutions, or fintechs on legal and regulatory issues related to consumer credit lending.

• Preference for candidates with experience in handling mortgage/HELOC products, legal matters, litigation, consumer complaints, and examinations.
