This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
β’ Develop and uphold comprehensive cost plans and estimates throughout the design and delivery stages.
β’ Generate and present monthly financial reports, executive summaries, and funding information.
β’ Coordinate cost data from design teams, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers for validation and auditing purposes.
β’ Gather constructed cost records for benchmarking and ongoing improvement.
β’ Lead the development of procurement strategies, conduct pricing reviews, validate scope, and negotiate commercial agreements.
β’ Oversee final accounts and ensure timely resolutions.
β’ Manage change control processes, including the review, estimation, negotiation, and reconciliation of change orders.
β’ Handle post-contract cost variances effectively.
β’ Assist with cost risk analysis, scenario planning, contingency management, and tracking commitments.
β’ Maintain cost control systems, including Earned Value Management where relevant.
β’ Integrate cost with schedule and scope in collaboration with project controls and scheduling teams.
β’ Influence engineering priorities based on cost implications and spearhead value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.
β’ Monitor market trends and provide valuable insights.
β’ Act as the primary client liaison.
β’ Prepare updates for executive-level stakeholders, including written feedback on general contractor submissions and revisions to cost estimates.
β’ Ensure compliance with internal business management systems and delivery methodologies.
β’ Mentor and guide junior team members.
β’ Manage margins and forecast monthly fees/resources.
β’ Fulfill SOX control responsibilities as applicable.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related discipline.
β’ 5-7+ years of experience in cost management, particularly supporting mission-critical data center projects.
β’ Proficiency in cost planning, forecasting, change management, procurement, and project controls.
β’ Willingness to travel to the Frederick, Maryland project site for major project activities, approximately 3-4 days onsite each month.
β’ Strong preference for candidates with construction consultancy experience.
β’ Familiarity with MEP systems, resilience considerations, and campus-scale infrastructure typical in hyperscale developments.
β’ Knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, cost control systems, and Earned Value Management (EVM).
β’ Expertise in procurement strategies and the commercial management of contractor/vendor agreements.
β’ RICS accreditation or progress towards certification is a plus.
β’ Excellent skills in communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management.
β’ Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
β’ Proficient with industry-standard cost management tools and software.
β’ Ability to work efficiently in a remote setting while interacting with onsite project teams and stakeholders.
